Our mission, deeply rooted in the preservation and enhancement of Southport’s historical and natural beauty, continues to thrive thanks to the support of our dedicated members, donors, and volunteers.

Preserve Historical Heritage
Financial support allows us to safeguard landmarks, like the Robinson Cottage and Southport School, and furthers our mission of protecting Southport’s rich history.
Environmental Conservation
Membership dues support the upkeep and expansion of the green spaces we maintain throughout town, such as Southport Park, contributing to a healthier, greener community.
Community Advocacy and Improvement
Our advocacy efforts, especially when it involves opposing development, often requires us to enlist legal counsel. Through financial contributions, we are able to hire experts to best represent our interests.
Community and Cultural Events
Throughout the year, SCS puts on multiple programs for our community that not only enrich our understanding of Southport’s history and environment, but also foster a strong sense of community. These events, many of which are now deeply ingrained in Southport’s culture, are made possible through volunteers and donations.
