Support
We support and engage with the Southport community by convening and participating in local events, liaising with Village merchants, and spearheading civic improvement efforts. Eagerly anticipated by Southport residents each year, our calendar of annual events is instrumental in continuing to foster Southport’s small town charm and close-knit community. These include Earth Day, the Blessing of the Fleet, Onion Festival, and Holidays in the Village.

Merchant Support
Our downtown is the cornerstone of Village living, and we are committed to maintaining a thriving retail center through merchant engagement. For years, our Merchant Support and Outreach Committee has partnered with all Southport Village merchants to keep open lines of communication, hear and address issues, and provide support. For example, we provided the funds, designed, and managed the installation of dumpster enclosures to Spic & Span and the Driftwood, resulting in a more attractive and efficient space for trash disposal in the heart of downtown.
Blessing of the Fleet
For more than 30 years, Southport’s Blessing of the Fleet has served as a cherished celebration for our beloved community. In 2026, SCS agreed to coordinate fundraising efforts to underwrite the $20,000 of costs associated with the celebration.
